As a domestic violence survivor and nationally recognized advocate, Tonya is a sought after speaker that travels throughout the country ministering to battered women. Hailed as “the anointed writer,” by Rawsistaz.com the largest online book club, she is an award-winning author of Leaving the Wilderness, Jay's Mansion and Cha-Ching and her forthcoming memoir, The Resurrection of Me will be released in the October 2008. Tonya is also a playwright, former television talk show host of The Tonya Blount Show which aired on FOX in Central Virginia and is the Founder of Leave the Wilderness a organization dedicated to aiding, uplifting and assisting battered women and their children.
